![]() And, by the way, I enjoy YA series with superheroes like Ex-Heroes, but those were well-written, clearly establishing the world that these well-defined characters lived in. To be fair, I admit to stopping listening a bit more than halfway through so maybe it really picked up later, but I just couldn't wait. And the author goes to great lengths to describe the workings and mechanisms of the devices that I found to be so dull because it was like, who cares if the altenator circuit thing doesn't have the proper wires? That's not the reality that is needed. We got characters telling about the super heroes and villains without actually being in the story. ![]() Almost everything was just told instead of shown. ![]() I needed more reality, more descriptions of the world they live in. But I found it totally lacking in fully realized characters that I had to put in my own preconceived attributes of teenagers and comic book superheroes. ![]() I seem to be alone in my assessment of this book. ![]()
